Focus on Health is a podcast dedicated to discussing and bringing to light the fundamental issues surrounding health and wellness in the Food & Beverage industry. A career dedicated to serving others can take its toll on your health. I’ve experienced it first-hand: late nights that lead to sleeping through your morning workout, “dinner” consisting of hours-old fries from under the heat lamp or a 2am pizza while closing the bar, passion for my career that lead to the eventual disappearance of any kind of work-life balance, and mental health struggles that develop from a career spent serving others.
Eventually, I started to realize that the life I was living was going to lead me to one place, and one place only. Burnout. My goal for Focus on Health is to provide the hospitality community with the tools and resources to better their lives. From eliminating the stigma around discussing mental health to asking the tough questions about what fundamentally needs to change to make our industry a better place to work. Because hospitality starts with taking care of yourself.
